ORIGINAL ACRYLIC PAINTINGS

After the success of the large, linked canvasses painting commissioned by Scunthorpe United Football Club, time was spent on painting. Below are just a few pieces as a result from a brief rest from printmaking.

Original Acrylic Paintings: Projects

GAMBIAN SCRATCH BAND

Painting of a one-man band performer in vibrant blue and turquoise tones, capturing musical energy with instruments

Lively group of young Gambian 'musicians' inspired by New Year celebrations in Cotu Beach area, Gambia. The main figure acts as a 'one-man-band' with homemade equipment, other figures simply dance to his rhythms!

EMPTY WALTZER

Vivid painting of an empty fairground ride with three bright orange spinning cars, glowing lights overhead

A longstanding interest in fairgrounds - the colour, sounds and attractions, led to this imaginary view of a waltzer without its dizzy passengers.

SPANISH CITY, WHITELY BAY

Painting of Spanish City building with iconic dome and towers, reflected in a vibrant green mosaic grid of blue and black dot

The tired old seafront building stood forlorn by the beach. The panels below, of depleted shimmering foil discs, merely emphasised its plight.

POPPY

Painting of tall red poppy flowers with textured petals and slender stems against a pale background, in a bold floral artwork

A private commission, celebrating a love of poppies.
